Important Update Graphic

Good evening JRCSD staff and families,

The start of the school year is almost upon us! Before we start the school year, there are a few updates and reminders I would like to communicate:

1. Masking and Social Distancing

2. Facilities Updates

3. New Website

We will be starting the school year in the yellow level of our COVID-19 Mitigation Strategies Decision Matrix. This means that the following guidance will be observed in all indoor school settings:

Social Distancing: Social distancing of at least three feet will be required indoors.

Masking: Due to a substantial community spread of COVID-19, we are recommending that everyone wear a mask. Masks will be required when social distancing can not be achieved. Masking will also be required on all buses, per a CDC order.

Questions have been asked about what the district is doing about quarantining, isolation, screening, etc. As stated in the district's Reopening Framework, we will not be doing daily screening and will follow the state's guidance on quarantining, testing, isolation, etc. Pages 9 and 10 of the NH COVID-19 School and Childcare Toolkit have some good charts to reference with regards to many of these topics.

A lot of work to our facilities has been completed over the past week. Repairs to the broken pipes and junctions under the Pratt have been completed, mold remediation has taken place and testing of all rooms has come back favorably, and parking lots at RMS and JRMS/CHS are ready for the start of the school year. Delaying the school year by a week certainly helped in making sure our school buildings would be safe for learners and staff.

In addition to welcoming our learners back to school on Tuesday, we will also be rolling out our new district and school websites! While you will be able to find a lot of district-wide information on sau47.org, each school's website will now create a more tailored experience for those individual school communities. In the coming weeks we will also be rolling out a mobile app - stay tuned for more information.

Because we are converting to a new website provider, there will be a period of time on Tuesday morning in which our website will be down. We have been told that this should only last for about an hour or two (the website should go down at about 7:00 a.m.) but it could stretch longer into the day. Please be sure to look up any information on our current website that you may need (bus routes, links to Web2School and other external websites) prior to Tuesday morning.

 Have a great weekend!
